Here are answers to some frequently asked questions. This information applies only to the 32-bit Winnix 2 version.

MDI or SDI mode?

MDI stands for "Multiple Document Interface". This mode determines how applications manage several documents. By default, Winnix runs in SDI mode (Single Document Interface), in which all Winnix windows are mutually independent, unlike MDI, in which a single Winnix instance can run several sessions. To enable MDI mode, just add line "SDIMode=0" in the [Settings] section of the winnix2.ini file.

The Full Screen Display option displays Winnix in full screen mode. But how do I return to traditional display mode?

The sequence is CTRL+ALT+F (F as in "FULLSCREEN"). Although pressing the ESC key enables to revert to a traditional display in several software, this key is reserved for the emulation part in this case, and Winnix cannot interfere with the application or connection in progress.

During logoff from the remote site, Winnix does not indicate that the user has been disconnected.

This option can be enabled via the winnix2.ini file. In the [Settings] section, just add line "DisconnectMessage=1".

All menus are provided with keyboard shortcuts to make them easier to use. However, the interface indicates shortcuts only when I press the ALT key.

This parameterization is specific to the Windows station. Access Configuration Panel > Display > Appearance > Effects, then either check or uncheck "Mask underlined letters".
