A brasserie-type restaurant has successfully dropped its order books in favour of mobile hand-held terminals (PDAs) running on Pocket Winnix in Wi-Fi mode and connected in real time to the database.
Personnel quickly came to grips with and took charge of this new technology, which doesn't require them to connect the PDA to the work station in order to send food orders to the kitchens.
Technically, this operation’s success rests on Pocket Winnix, which enables to program PDAs so that they retain advanced Point-of-Sale Billing functions already operational under Winnix Gold (for PCs). Graphic functions allow personnel to keep on using familiar legacy programs (menu and item selection, customer bill editing, posting to customer accounts, cashing methods management, etc.), but under this new mobile technology that travels with them all over the premises.
Pocket Winnix makes it easier to modify orders and faster to prepare bills. These time savings allow this client to become much more available, attentive, tuned in and responsive to its own customers and thus improve the quality of its service.
